For traditional 45-minute classes:
-
Two-weeks to teach the entire unit
For 90-minute block classes:
- One-week to teach the entire unit
NOTE: Since the unit’s lessons - with the exception of the first three - do not
build on one another, teachers can opt to pick and choose specific lessons they
would like to teach and/or switch the order of the lessons that appear in the unit
layout.

Each lesson in the White House unit highlights a specific theme addressed in C-SPAN’s
documentary, White House Week programs, and/or White House website.
The unit includes a culminating assessment designed to help students synthesize
content covered throughout the unit, and can be completed during extra class time
or as a homework assignment since outside research and writing is required.
