Margie Phelps, legal counsel for Westboro Baptist Church, was interviewed by phone about the Supreme Court 8-1 ruling in favor of the First Amendment right of members of the church to protest at military funerals. Church members believe that U.S. military deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq are caused by U.S. tolerance of homosexuality.
