Jill Lepore gave a talk titled "The Tea Party’s Revolution and the Battle for American History" where she traced the "far right's" visions of America's founding and compares the recent "tea party" movement to the original protest of 1773. The talk was given in the Old South Meeting House in Boston, the place where Massachusetts colonists met and decided on their protest actions of the evening of December 16, 1773. Professor Lepore was launching her book The Whites of Their Eyes: The Tea Party's Revolution and the Battle over American History (Princeton University Press, 2010).
