About This Video

The Senate Judiciary Committee has approved Elena Kagan to be the next Associate Justice of the Supreme Court by a vote of 13 to 6. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) was the only Republican to vote in her favor. The nomination will now go to the Senate floor, possibly during the week of August 2. If confirmed, she would replace retiring Justice John Paul Stevens and become the fourth female Justice in the Supreme Court's history.
