The U.S. Senate passed a 2,315 page financial regulation bill , 60-39. The measure, which is the biggest overhaul of the system since the Great Depression, became a top priority of Congress and the White House after the 2008 financial collapse. The legislation creates a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, as well as other provisions to protect consumers from predatory lending.
