Retired Army lieutenant colonel and military historian Carlo D'Este receives the Andrew J. Goodpaster prize for contributions to military scholarship and presents the prize's annual lecture.  Carlo D'Este is the author of several books, including Warlord: A Life of Winston Churchill at War, 1847-1945 and biographies of General George Patton and President Dwight Eisenhower.
