Education, Labor Unions, and the Fiscal Cliff

OVERVIEW:

AFT president Randi Weingarten discussed the priorities of labor unions as negotiations began on averting the so-called “fiscal cliff.” She also discussed American Federation of Teachers' education agenda heading into 2013. Topics included the potential effects of tax increases and budgets cuts on teachers, education reform prospects during the Obama administration’s second term, and the impact of the 2012 elections.
