About This Video

Christopher Phillips, using the example of the directive by Thomas Jefferson that the U.S. Constitution be revised on a frequent basis, traveled across the country and spoke to many groups of Americans about re-framing the Constitution. The author's participants included soldiers and pacifists in Berkeley, California, who wanted to make military service mandatory and grade-school students in the Southwest who have devised a plan to end personal inheritance and create a national wealth distribution system. Christopher Phillips responded to questions from members of the audience at Porter Square Books in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
